@PK102260 Looks like a good way of starting the fire,if there was some details to the materials and what kind of prep was there to getting the materials,will this work on a windy day?A good start,keep up the work.

@none3973 Lighters run out of fuel, and if things are truly dire, like absolute worst case scenario as in the very collapse of society, you need to not only have several methods of starting a fire at your disposal, but know what else you can come up with to build a fire should your materials go missing for whatever reason.

Looks like he was sparkin a big ol' spliff in the thumbnail.

with just a pocket knife? and then 3 other items

How bout renaming your vid to something more accurate, like Starting fire w pocket knife AND....?
-
You only start fire with char cloth. If you think to carry char cloth, you should put a lighter in with it. that way you don't have to waste your char cloth.
Great little vid but why don't you show a little more detail. What's the quarts look like or how is it shaped.

To get a charred cloth, you gotta have fire, right?...

@Parkinson9999 yes...is this the chicken and egg thing?

@LivingHistorySchool
It's not a chicken\egg thing at all. It's a: if you're going to have the tools and foresight to make and carry char cloth, carry a carbon steel blade, and look all over the ground (past 1000 pieces of wood) to find a stone that will spark; why not just plan on carrying a lighter in the first place thing. Just an assumption though.
