The first time I heard this song (#34 in 1974), I liked it! I don't really know much about Mack. He had 9 charted hits between 1973 and 1982, making the top 40 3 times. The single pictured in the video was another top 40 hit of his (I believe I have it, but was hoping to find a pic of this single instead. You work with what you got!). Anyone else who knows about him, fill us in!

  • Really good!

  • @Michinil Yeah he's a fine singer I can't find anything about! I listened to almost all of his other charted hits today, he's pretty consistent in his work.

  • I am not familiar with the artist Mack White but he has a very impressive, soulful voice. Another case of a talented artist who had a brief period of chart hits and then disappeared. But it is good to get a reminder of their work in a great channel such as this one. Do you have any material, Wilbur, by Ray Pillow, who was quite popular around the 60's and 70's?

  • @TheGarretdeas I think I have a few of Ray's singles...I know I posted his "Super Lady" song some time back. I'll see if I got some more of his stuff to post :)

  • my wife is putting these posts on here. LOVE Mac White!!!!! Thank you sooooo much for putting this song on here so everybody can listen to him too. I believe Mac passed away from a rare blood disorder many years ago. R.I.P HANDSOME ANGEL

  • Mack White was a white, soulful singer and piano player. Mack was very driven to have a hit record. He would say, " Man, just listen to those strings." He wanted that big sound. I think he was influenced by Solomon Burk and Ray Charles. I worked with Mack around Panama City, Fl to Dothan, AL in the late 60's, early 70's. What a talent ! You all should have been there !

  • Nice tune.

  • Thank you for sharing: I never heard this before, or heard of the singer. But, I do like it!

  • Thank you for adding this. Mack was my great-uncle and I have been searching for copies of his music. He passed away many years ago, but was a gifted artist from a simple, southern family.

  • "Soulful voice" indeed, as described by TheGarretdeas. Loved his "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", posted by tpmetp, and it's great to hear this! Thanks!

  • Hi a great song by a singer i haven't heard of but a great voice
