The Kackar mountains - Kaçkar Dağı - are located in north eastern Turkey. This video is an overview of the trekking, climbing, people, flora and fauna in the area. It is taken in late summer and based on areas accessible from Barhal itself best reached from Erzurum. This is often used by climbers going up to the highest summit - Kackar 3937 m. The alternative approach is from the north via Trabzon and Rize. The range is famous for its wildlife and in particular the stunning flora.
