Here's a reel of three, count 'em, three scenes with that nutty pianist, Victor Borge. He also guested on The Muppet Show at this point.

  • It's a real shame, kids today don't know anything about music unless it's manufactured pop garbage!

  • RIP Victor. Saw him live in Oslo in the fall of 1999. I was 23. It was amazing, hilarious and he was in GREAT form. Even then (at 89) he pretended to fall of the piano chair, just like in this clip, and yes even then he got out the seatbelts :D He was scheduled for a second show in May of 2000 and I got tickets for that as well, but then it was cancelled because he was ill. Six months later he died :(

  • LOL fasten your seatbelts wherever you play xD

I love the very last part hahaha

  • AMEN...AND AMEN AGAIN!

  • LMAO man gotta love his expression at the end.

  • agreed. I listen to a lot of music. I grew up on classical music but i also love a lot of modern and traditional styles.

The reason why I listen to such a variety of things is I think that all styles of music have good and bad aspects.

There is increadable musicicanship in some modern styles of music such as some types of metal, there is the beauty of simplicity in certain modern rock bands or pop artists. People who presume that new music is rubbish are worse than teen who avoid classical.

  • I think it might have something to do with playing the piano so much. Concert pianists have to be fit; just look at how much they often sweat while they are playing. Piano is an instrument that takes more than just your fingers.

  • I couldn't agree more.

I'm a young teenager as well and I'm so glad I have grounded parents to introduce me to all of these magnificent performers and youtube to find all of these lost gems.

We need to bring back this kind of comedy, I'm getting really sick of comedians and musicians today that have to swear and belittle themselves and others to get a laugh.

I love Mr. Borge, true comedian and fantastic musician. :)

  • there are a lot of musicians today that have classical training, and use that in the composition of their music, granted this isnt really music you'd hear on kiss fm, but generalizing all popular music as garbage, stock, or easy is very ignorant.

  • i was think the same thing then notice someone posted.

    haha

  • that's pretty cool how good his shape was... maybe it was purely genetic or he really took care of himself, who knows

  • yeah thats true. im a teen & i LOVE classical music asa much as i like listening to pop or rock or w.e. but most people my age dnt & i would actually love to go see an orcastra or an opera, but ppl just think dats weird. i love mozart-hes my fave composer.. oh&also charlie chaplin movies? i love those old classics, but my friends dnt find it funny. we watched it once & i was laughing so hard i couldnt control myself lol, but they ddnt get any of it...lol so yeah..i agree.. hehe xD
