Pigeons descend on an automatic feeder at sunrise to grab their daily dose of OvoControl P. Feeding lasts only a few minutes before all the bait is gone....a few minutes later all the birds are gone. The cycle repeats 24 hours later.

  • this is just wrong! almost equivalent to feeding birth control to undesirable humans! poor, homeless, wrong color ect.

  • @bcbizle -- the most common method to manage pigeons is to poison them. We would argue that OvoControl represents a far safer and effective system of pigeon control.

  • Just feed them poison only have to do it once. duh!

  • @xjoeman123 -- Unfortunately, trying to poison the flock is not a long-term solution. If you can actually poison them all, a new flock will most likely quickly replace the existing one. Since pigeons breed so rapidly, long-term control requires a method to prevent reproduction. OvoControl represents a long-term, effective population control program for pigeons.

  • Thanks for the info! Sounds very promising!

  • @teresamicco see the ovocontrol website -- OvoControl P, Resources, Technical White Papers, "Absorbtion and Toxicity in Birds" for more details.

Give me a freaking break. We just paid someone over $500 to clean six inches of putrid water full of dead pigeons and pigeon feces from an 18" gap between two buildings. The smell was ungodly and it permeated both buildings, making our employees sick. This is more humane than Avitrol. Get over it.

  • @teresamicco A population of pigeons has a very rapid turnover. Even when birds survive, a feral pigeon in an urban area has a lifespan of only 2-3 years. It is not unexpected that the population declines rapidly when recruitment through normal reproduction is shut down with contraception. OvoControl is non-toxic -- the LD50 > 10,000 mg/kg bw in the rat -- roughly equivalent to table sugar.
