The major malware that affect Mac OS X and other UNIX clones, like Linux that's my primary operating system that I use, are rootkits and worms. Classic virus that infect normal programs don't work due to privilege protection, so a rootkit program is more effective against this OS family.

Haha I was browsing piratebay on my Android and I got a popup saying my "Mac" had viruses and it needs to scan. FAIL.
