Should be some good country up there, Make sure you check out our furuno FCV 585 sounder footage at "Furuno FCV 585 Unreel fish finder in action with excellant results!!" Top Video and doesn't get any better, Find the deeper ground 50 metres plus, away from the reefs and looks for structure, and doesn't have to be much, They call them Isolates and some are tiny, size of a car, or large shoaly patches with rubble for bottom. That's where a good sounder comes.

I live up in Mossman Far North Queensland, have you got any tips for what to look for on the bottom with the sounder when we are offshore targeting reds .

We get them off Mackay, Central queensland, Australai. we catch them a fair way out, about 100 kilometres plus, in the Great Barrier Reef, Top fish and highly prized. Top fishing!!

Red emperor are one of the best eating fish on the Great Barrier reef, very highly prized and about $50 a kilo now for fillets, Also love Coral Trout!!
