I know it was ages ago - but just to answer Pommits question in case someone else has the same idea - No. They are lightening quick, and although a few can be tamed for handling most are a pet to watch only. You'd never let them loose outside their vivarium (never a cage, they'd escape!), handtame or not, as its doubtful you'd get them back.

I am considering getting a dormouse. But are they animals that like handling and are they ok to be outside of the cage (to run around a flat)?
