  • what's the differentce between kodachi and a wakizashi

  • @NelsonPesadelo To be honest, I really don't know. It may be that a wakizashi is a specific type of short-sword. Ko-dachi simply means "short-sword".

  • @Hakufuichi kodachi is a short bladed sword with a full length katana handle. basically a long handled wakizashi.

  • @xxwes997xx Thanks!

  • is a ninja-to no a kodachi, the codachi is a katana with curve 60cm blade. Kodachi was used by coachman.

  • This is really good compare to some I've seen. It almost seems to have a taichi influence with all the reverse grip strikes.

  • @xxwes997xx What you describe is a chisagatana (or more colloquially, makuragatana). Kodachi is "short" or "companion" sword (depending on kanji)- this covers the range from wakizashi to down to long tanto, with size/style preference varying by Ryu.

  • @NelsonPesadelo kodachi blades also tend to be more curved

  • @Hakufuichi no problemo
