ive had alot of v8 trucks and cars that have been standards, and i gotta tell ya man, if you practice your shifts and put a shorter throw on the shifter, youre gonna make that ram move a lot quicker. i finally switched to an automatic after driving one with a beefed up trans, a proper mopar tranny with a serious shift kit and high stall torque converter would have left that chevy wondering wtf just happened.

@bigsky89 I don't believe that... not at all... Stock street tires on a pickup truck with a high stall converter and all it will do is spin out of the hole... maybe if traction wasn't an issue but then again were talking modded to stock. Same shit in the Chevy and it will be even again... Take the Ram against an LT1 Caprice and the Dodge will be wondering what happened.... I like them both and both have their advantages.

@v10viper04 Bull shit. my 318 has all bolt ons only, stage 3 shift kit with high stall converter. Basically a level 2 500 gas hp build. Spins in first and takes off like a scolded dog. 7.5 sec 0-60 with 3.55's still stock tires and no internal engine mods. So I gotta back that other guy up as i drive proof of his statement. when I put in the mopar pcm with this combe.. goodbye most newer trucks with exhaust, cai, and mild tune. Beefed auto much more fun than manual if done right

@95ram1500 No offense but your not making 500hp with bolt ons only. Those 5.2 are rated at like 230hp factory, bolt ons will prob net you maybe 50hp AT THE MOST. Auto vs manual is a debate, you like Auto I like Manual. It's all personal preference. 7.5 sec 0-60 Is not really all that fast man... My buddies Stock LT1 Caprice does 7 sec flat 0-60. I love Dodge trucks but give credit where it's due. Don't make stuff up.

@mrfixit1993 Want to make a wager on that? Look up RPO code L99. Its the 4.3L V8 and it based off the LT1 block. I'm so tired of ppl saying the 4.3L V8 does not exist! IT DOES! Want to come over and measure the bore and stroke of the 8 cylinders on my Caprice? Its an L99... Its out there so stop being ignorant. Thanks

@95ram1500 and im not trying to be an ass either. simple a misunderstanding. im just annoyed you thought I had 500 hp in my engine. im usually the person that makes the comment you did lol. i simply beefed up my transmission because A. they suck stock B. im gearing up for a bigger powerplant. the whole drivetrain is done but the engine. all in good fun though man. and while it may not be the fastest truck around. i was proving that a mildly modded 318 with a really high stall can get traction.

@v10viper04 first. its a 500 hp Transmission build. thats what my whole statement was based on bud. Look at PATC and look at their stage 2 build. and 7.5 sec in a 5,5oo plus truck with 3.55 gearing is awesome. so it not being a sports car. its good for an ram that did that oroiginally in 12 sec or so. that caprice might even have better gearing than mine. and considering that 230 hp is stock and im getting that with bolt ons. thats damn good. Im getting an engine build down the road. trans first

@JU5TBL4ZE  I don't believe it was gutless. For a 4,000+lb. car it runs 0-60 in 9 seconds. Most Civics do that or worse.... Its not great no but its not that bad considering how heavy the car is. That car has taken down quite a few unsuspecting cars in the past. And for the cars the Caprice can't take out I have my Corvette to take them out. haha
