how did u shorten the anttena with out it damaging it

I didn't. you can't change the length of the antenna. I upgraded to a 2.4 Ghz receiver which has a shorter antenna.

Hey i am sorta new to the rc world i got a rustler (eletric) do you think i would do good for an e-revo 1/16?

Any of the traxxas electric trucks are great for starting out. They all have something called "trainer mode" This cuts the power in half so that you can get used to driving without being afraid of wrecking. Then when you feel confident, you can turn training mode off and get full power.
