The Next Waltz was written several years ago for a singer who flatly rejected it. So it has lingered in limbo ever since

asked me if he could try writing lyrics for it. Which he did....and he contacted a wonderful singer named Kainos Harmon

who agreed to sing the lyrics he'd written. So, in essence, she wrote the melody line and sang it. I screwed up - the music credits should have her name alongside mine. Sorry Kai.
So here it is, finally. The completed song, which has a brand new name attached: We Will Dance (The Next Waltz)

Incredible. The music is gorgeous and the melody is woven so well within it that I'd never guess it wasn't part of the original crafting. Of course Kainos's ethereal vocals bring the whole piece together, so gentle I can almost feel her arms wrapping around me.

What I caught of Rob's lyrics sounds excellent as well, though it could have been about pig farming and I think I'd still be awed by this. ;-)

Glad I found this video again. Had it in my favourites once but I managed to lose it somehow. The kind of fantastic original work that makes You Tube worthwhile. Great work from all concerned, especially Kainos Harmon, who can sing a song to me any time she likes.
