The Innovation Tournament was held as part of the Entrepreneurship Week at Stanford University. The objective of the tournament is to create as much value as possible using rubber bands.
Our team, Jump Strong, used rubber bands to construct ropes that were used to play Zero Point, which is a popular children's game in Singapore. The aim of the game is to jump over the rope held by two people. With each successful jump, the height of the rope is raised. Any jumping technique (including cartwheels) is allowed.
On February 25 2008, we went on the Stanford campus and introduced the game to people. Free Jump Strong bands were also given out. In one hour, 85 people participated in the Zero Point game. Approximately 1,400 jumps were recorded and 3,500 calories were burnt.
The value created - increased awareness for the importance of exercise, and a whole lot of happiness.
Team members: Kimber Lockhart, Shaun Maguire, Ryan Mason, Chee Chian Seah, Liheng Tang
