As far as ı know POD fromed in 1992. Before that they had another band called Eschatos. And that band had nothing to do with POD we know since 1992. They mostly played heavy metal, trash metal covers. Actually they began to make this music after RATM released their first album.

Also they expressed their influence from RATM on several stages.

Actually Rage Against the Machine did start before P.O.D. RATM's first album released in 1991. P.O.D. formed a year later in 1992.

@dasize In the late eighties Zack was in a hardcore band called Inside Out. The first Rage album came out in in '91. POD's first album came out in '92. If you look also you will see a Downset sticker on Marcos' guitar. all these bands pushed a genre that eventually became commercial and watered down. These bands changed music and stayed humble in the process. So props to all of them!
