Think nothing can scare you? Enter dekePod, that thing that is not even slightly scary and yet, be honest, gives you the heebie jeebies. In this episode, Deke investigates how to simulate an extreme-detail HDR portrait -- which would otherwise require you to shoot multiple exposures of a person locked down in a body brace -- using flimflam and forgery. And a shrunken skull. These are the depths of scariness we go to. Here at dekePod.

  • hahaha freaky man,i like this :D

  • Lol! the energy you put into this is great btw but a bit too fast! on the other hand thank you very much, i've been wanting to do this for a looong time now and had no clue how to achieve it or what it was called, now i know so thank you :D

  • Clearly you live in a little la la land where everything is perfect, no matter how good or bad it really is.

Criticism - learn it, live by it.

  • screw off loser. deke pwns ur ass.

  • Not sure the 2^32 = 4.2 million colours per channel is how it works. This would be true if the HDR format were integer. My understanding is that 32bit hdr formats are floating point. Not sure this is a real comparison as a result, it really reflects the system of using a gamma value is increasingly limited.

  • If I might offer some criticism, your totally irrelevant tangents, your rapid manner of speech, and the constant cuts to random photos make your videos very hard to follow and leave them looking like a first-time amateur put it all together.

If you'd slow down and stay focused, maybe you wouldn't need to bulk up your video with random pictures that don't even really illustrate what you're trying to say. If you need humor, tie it into your topic; others have pulled it off, like Donnie Hoyle.

  • the sound is bad
