I apologise for some confusion.
The Joisel crane does start with a bird base however there are a couple of steps that I did not film.
The third last step in the traditional crane is to fold up the tail and head sections however with the Joisel model, he makes the head section thinner by refolding the head part so that it is half as thin as the tail part before inside reversing both sections.
I hope this helps resolve any confusion.

You're welcome. I hope it helps you fold this beautiful model. Some very subtle moves in the folding. I fold it several times a week and still can't fold it as well as Eric.
