Born Free USA's Adam Roberts debates Jack Hanna live on Good Morning America. This debate focused on the true value of keeping animals in zoos and was instigated by the mauling of three men, and death of one, by a tiger at the San Francisco Zoo in December 2007.

Being rich, famous and "successful" has nothing to do with doing what's right.
As for his great zoo, their 37 year old elephant died this year. That's some record considering elephants live up to 60-70 years in the wild.
And yes, being the ignorant geezer he is, Jack does forget more about animals and their plight in zoos than most animal researchers do.
