I remember this evacuation We left like at 12 am and I woke up around 10 am in the car and we were still in houston... You got it good bro it only took you around 10 hours It took us 25 hours to fort worth!!!! lol

what a bunch of marroons. If not for the Katrina debacle almost nobody would have left. I sat on my porch with a case of beer and watched all this on tv. Lost power for a grand total of 45 minutes.

My uncle lives in Kema. During Rita it took him 23 hrs to drive from the coast to Waxahachie south of Dallas which is a 2 1/2 drive at most.

I still can't understand why so many people evacuated that didn't live in Galveston or any of the other coastal cities. If you have a sturdy home and don't live in a flood zone, stay put.

I remember this storm, I lived in orange and when we evacuated it took us 21 hours in traffic to get 1 hour away from our house.
