Recorded June 10, 2004. The video begins as I drive north on US Highway 62/180 into the Guadalupe Mountains. The Guadalupe Mountains are a mountain range located in western Texas and southeastern New Mexico. The range includes the highest summit in Texas, Guadalupe Peak, 8,749 feet, and the "signature peak" of West Texas, El Capitan, both located within Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

  • Nice video. El Capitan is majestic. Old diaries of explorations back in the early 1800's talk of El Capitan being off in the distance. They often say, "we traveled all day and didn't seem to get any closer ". I know, been there and done that.

  • Do you live in West Texas?

We live in Central Texas near Waco and we went to El Paso in the summer of 2006, I believe, and the drive seemed endless! But the scenery is much more interesting then the hills and woods are over here.

I wanted to go visit the Guadalupe Mountains, but we simply didn't have the time.

Nice video, btw. I rated five stars.

  • nice i live in new mexico. they have some pretty stuff in new mexico.
