2010 ECU 3 Minute Thesis finalist and PhD student in our Nursing discipline, Vicki Cope, discusses her thesis which uses written portraiture to portray nurses in the Western Australian Health System.

She is investigating state of the health system and the reasons why nurses are so committed to the industry, using written portraiture.

Written portraits are a qualitative methodology that is an amalgamation of life history, narrative enquiry and ethnographic methods.

The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is a forum where PhD, Professional Doctorate and Master by Research students compete by explaining their research clearly, concisely and compellingly in 3 minutes or less.
