Both Romola Garai and Jonny Lee Miller were brilliant in this series. I especially enjoyed their banter, but I think the best performance had to be Tamsin Greig as Ms. Bates. She's just amazing!

This is without a doubt the best adaptation of EMMA. I'm American, and I LOVE watching British period films. They are simply the best. I wish I could live in this movie.

@ammerocks romola did brilliantly in my opinion. And while I like Gwyneth in general, her portrayal of Emma and especially her accent as Emma bothered me the whole movie.

I feel that those who think Romola Garasis Emma was to "euphoric" and was taken aback and confused by her acting, dont realy get Jane Austens Emma. I found Gwyneth was (and is) much to sad to play Emma.

@dezmpo actually I found Anne Hathaway's accent in Becoming Jane positively dreadful to the point of distraction. I feel personally that the most "period drama" -like aspect of Hathaway is the fact that she shares a name with Shakespeare's wifey.

That is so awesome, the actor who is playing Mr. Elton and the actor who is playing Mr. Knightley have both play Edmund Bertrum in a version of Mansfield Park.
