You must be a casual fan of the Killer. The title of this song is indeed HIgh School Confidential. Check it on any record, CD, or DVD  label that it appears on in official product. And he's not saying "Bobbing at the high school hop," he's saying "Bopping", which is a 50's term for dancing, and rocking out. Bobbing is a term for something that bobs up and down, like apples in a barrel of water. Hence the phrase "Bobbing for apples."

Jerry never destroyed his life and career. He did just fine in spite of bad publicity. Look what's around today - most of their lives are a wreck and not much talent. Jerry is still rockin - no one can keep a good man down. Love the man's talent - his personal life is his business. People's lives are a mess because they spend too much time analizing or trying to run someone else's.

I saw Jerry Lee Lewis back in 1980 at the Tomorrow Club in Youngstown. (I think it was the Tomorrow Club. I have to ask my friend Steve, he remembers everything.) And he was amazing. Such talent and charisma. Born to be a star.
