This song originated as a bank commercial, but became the definitive song of the carpenters, launching Karen and Richard Carpenter to the top.
Clip features a new girl in school....a tough streetwise kid who fell for a classmate who sacrifices himself for her for homework not done..... and getting 6 of the best. Those were the days when corporal punishment was the norm. Just to add that I am not in favour of such abuse in school.

Grab your ankles, I could hear the chuckles from the class as I was about to embrace the moon & stars, then it came a crack of thunder BOOM over the desk i a rose,Like a ripple in water, I felt the sting til the next class. That's right...The song was originally used by Crocker Bank back in Southern California, then Paul Williams and Richard Carpenter made a complete song out of a commercial jingle....Great Flashback...Stay Gold
