A video from the archives I thought needed to be on Youtube.

Darrell Scott, with Darol Anger sitting in on violin, Matt Magano on bass and Gary Ogan on drums at the Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival in 2008.

My mom took this video with a regular camera, and apparently spaced on the fact that the video rotated with the camera...

In any case, a wonderful version of Day After Day (off his record Theatre of the Unheard). Enjoy.

  • Darrell Scott, - the consummate professional looses his strap and doesn't miss a beat. Thanks for posting this gem. I have never seen him, and have not heard much of his work with an electric guitar/band. He is just as accomplished with an electric as with an acoustic guitar.

Glad you enjoyed. This concert took place after I took a weeklong songwriting workshop with him, so it remains very special to me. Thanks for bringing me back here to listen to this for the first time in a while.

A live recording available on iTunes and Amazon that I would HIGHLY recommend purchasing is "FestivaLink presents Darrell Scott at Merlefest 4/27/06." It captures live, predominantly electric Darrell at the height of his powers with his best backing band.

  • straight up NASTY! Mr. Scott is a smooth pimp. He starts rippin a solo and looses his guitar strap, which apparently just pisses him off because he starts rippin it even harder! :)

Thanks "MOM" for capturing this gem... i actually like the artistic "spin" you put on it...

  • Darrell is indeed a smooth pimp. Truer words were never spoke...

    That comment made my day...

  • I would like to hear the lead that he would've pulled out of there had the strap not come off and stranded him on one spot on the neck for a while.

Darrel's work, no matter what it is, is some of the most tasteful stuff I've heard anywhere. It is *always* pleasing to the ears.
