Tofu strips 'chicken' style, a simple, tasty recipe that can be easily modified.
Serves: 2-3
Preparation: 30-35 mins
Cooking time: 15 mins
Type: Vegan, Vegetarian, Halal, Kosher pareve.
Ingredients: 800g (1.7lb) tofu pack, ½ cup soya milk, 2-4 tsp vegetable bouillion, ¼ teaspoon turmeric, 2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp sage, 1 tsp parsley, 1 tsp thyme, ½ cup flour, 2 slices bread.

  • Did you freeze and the thaw the tofu to give it a chewier texture?

  • did you watch the whole video? the first ingredient listed says "1 pack defrosted firm tofu"

  • I'm aware that you listed defrosted tofu. I asked if that was because it gave it a chewier texture, just like my question states. I've never bothered freezing tofu. I was just wondering why you froze it.

  • How large (in weight) is your "pack" of tofu? I keep finding tofu recipes that just say "a package" or "a pack". I'm in Italy, and what I find here won't necessarily be the same thing as your standard size package, and I may have to adjust the recipe a bit. Thanks!

  • @KungKevinRS You're mis-informed. It's about supply and demand. Vegans don't consume anything animal related so therefore the demand decreases - or should do - over a period of time. It's easy to assume that everything in society that's supplied to us isn't demanded in the first place - one of the reasons that Humans don't question the mass slaughter and cruel treatment of animals worldwide is because 'it's already been killed'. People don't tend to think the other way around.

    And RummyKunt, ofcourse the inside is still white. When you marinade chicken does the flavour seep in through all of the chicken meat? No it doesnt. GAH!
