Startup of my 89 Iroc-z with the new Dart block 401" twin turbo setup. First stable idle startup. LOTS more tuning left to do.

  • Harwood 4" cowl with cutouts to clear the turbos. New setup will keep turbos under hood. Thinking of going with a 2-2.5" cowl if I can find one I like and not too expensive

  • hey where did you tap into the engine for the oil for the turbos?

  • @mikewashere01 back of the block on the china wall there is a port for oil pressure switch. My car didnt use that port so it was just plugged. I just put a fitting in there and used that as my source

  • Nice fingerprints on the rear bumber. how did they get there? ;P

  • @TEHGREATAWESOMENESS Wouldnt you like to know? haha naw, that was from pushing the car in and out of the garage since it took so damn long to get the thing ready for startup and finally get the tune down to run it.

  • hey there i was wondering what brand is that on the turbochargers cuz i cant really find a company online that sells them for a 89 iroc. nice job.

  • @TheHeyta. These are Master Power turbos. Budget brazilian made pieces but seem to do well. Abit older tech but work well for the price.. The turbos are not model specific, they need sized for the motor used so thats why you wont find a 89 Irocz turbo.

  • what hood did you use?

  • Didn't you wanna raise your arms and say " IT'S ALIVE!!! HAHA " I did...

  • @TEHGREATAWESOMENESS Thats gods hands trying to hold this evil son of a bitch from hitting the streets.

  • @TEHGREATAWESOMENESS Lmao was thinking the same thing

  • Great set-up. My cousin built a Vega with 2 turbos from 2.2 Chrysler engines he got at junk yards. He used ram's horn exhaust manifolds turned upside down with fabricated turbo adapters. It was a 305 sbc and a powerglide. He used a pressurized box holding a 600 holley. It took about 6 months to build because of budget restrictions. That lil puppy would pin your eyeballs back when he hammered it. We used cnc ported aluminum corvette heads and special, dished pistons. About 7.5 to 1 compression

  • I just read you build thread and then i randomly saw this. NICE!

  • how r u gonna put a hood on it with the air intake going over the radiator down the center of the car

  • SWeeeeet!!

  • That's a sweet setup!
