when family guy first aired back in 1999, it got cancelled later on.
i guess back then people though family guy was another simpson rip off too.
but now family guy has gotton even MORE popular then the simpsons!!!

@brianpadraic Granted, I haven't seen the past couple seasons, but I would say it's typically the other way around. The Simpsons is better at telling stories and incorporating more traditional sitcom-style humor with social commentary, while Family Guy relies more heavily on nostalgia and absurdist comedy. From what I've seen, too, the older crowd usually prefers the Simpsons, while FG is more the college-age to early 30s viewers. I love both shows, though.
