This one came to me and I guess you could say was largely inspired by Beckie0. And it's not like THAT, so getcher minds out of the gutter! She's 15, for cryin' out loud. But Josh, if you're watching, I think I found you a girl, man :D j/k But seriously, Rebecca's got more talent, more soul in one pinky finger than I would have if there were two of me. Definitely a channel worth watching around here.

I missed a few harmony vocals in the coda. I'd go back and change them, but my Camtasia 5 trial period expired. It's an excellent screen recorder, the best there is as far as I've seen, but I'm not paying $300 for it!

When this song first came out, I couldn't stand it. I hated everything "current" back then 'cause I was having my oldies/disco/80's stage then. So one day I'm making one of my "diary tapes" and I start singing along to this song, not even realizing that I'm doing it. Then I go back and listen to the tape and it's like "What the hell was I doing? I was actually singing along to that crap?" Slowly over the course of the following several months I grew to love the song immensely. Nowadays it takes me right back to my own high school days. I don't guess it's a really popular song; it was a follow-up single to "River Of Dreams". The actual song is almost six minutes long, but many radio edits cut out the second verse to bring it down to four, which is what I did. I really wish they hadn't, though, 'cause the second verse is my favorite verse in the song:

And she asks me what I'm dreaming
And I realize that I must have gone
A million miles away
Then I ask her how she knew
To reach out for me at that moment
And she smiles because it's understood
There are no words to say."

You have an impeccable taste in music, my friend. Billy Joel, the Eagles, Chicago, Rush... All About Soul is one of my top five Billy Joel songs, probably in order something like: This is the Time, Leningrad, For the Longest Time, All About Soul, River of Dreams. Although Only the Good Die Young, You May Be Right and of course We Didn't Start the Fire are up there. I'd love to see you do For the Longest Time, I'm sure that would be nothing short of epic...

@emoemofire YES, I love This Is The Time so much! I actually tried to do a voice harmonizing thing of "Longest Time" on my other channel Jealousguy, I don't know if it's still there, but it was only like 30 seconds and pretty much sounded like ass because I was using the TV in the background to do the background vocals. One of my other favorites by Billy Joel that I never hear on the radio anywhere these days is "Allentown".

I had the same initial reaction to the "River of Dreams" album. Granted, I still don't like ALL the songs in it, as I do with his other albums, but (non-hit-wise) 'Blonde Over Blue,' 'Shades of Grey,' and 'Two Thousand Years' are all pretty awesome.

@NintendoCapriSun Oh yeah, that's a great song :D There's a local station I listen to that's basically a Billy Joel - Coldplay - Queen mix that plays that song every so often. Do you listen to Dire Straits or Doobie Brothers, much? It'd be forking amazing to see something of theirs done. (P.S. I inherited my taste in music from my mother and was raised on Oldies!) There ain't music like the music there used to be anymore.
