This a treat - never heard it before. Darling Can't You Tell is my favorite uptempo group harmony song - great double lead, amazing bass, that flute, great arranging. I thought they were black, too; Arlene Smith of The Chantels was dubbed on after the session by producer George Goldner; the group never knew till they heard the song on the radio. (It was a decent sized NYC hit.) I knew this song exiasted, but never heard it till now. Thanks for posting it!
@WWIIAce9 I knew yur father very well he was a great guy when they came out with their first record we so excited it was the high light of our teen age years someone that we knew made a hit record..I went to see them at the Paramont with a group of girls we sat in the third row ..When I grad.from school I went to work on wall street and seen your father again in the sandwich place that he opened on Broadway...He lives on because of Joe from the clusters .
Charlie Scardina (top left) is my father. He passed away in 1999. He didn't like to talk about this time in his life as he; like many musicians of this time; was bogged down by personal demons. I was given a first pressing of "Pardon my Heart" today and have been learning so much about my dad that I never knew about him. Thank you for posting this song. C. Scardina
thanks for posting the pic, i though the clusters were a black group and i though the had a female vocalist. this was because of the song Darling Cant You Tell.
