In February I had the opportunity to go on a fish collecting trip to the Panuco Basin in Mexico. What follows is the first installment of a series of videos highlighting the trip.

  • No photo of the undescribed swordtail?

  • @mrsouthwest303

I wasn't even aware that there was one. Livebearers isn't my thing. I do have some pictures of the Montezuma Swordtail.

  • This is awfull.... Breed em don't take them from the wild...

  • @Bassintheweeds

You, my friend, are an idiot. Where do you think the fish you have in fish tanks to "breed em" came from. Do you think they "surrendered" and were taken hostage? LOL

We bring back fry. In the wild less than one percent of the wild fry from a spawning pair actually make it to maturity. It's only because many like me and MANY before me have brought them FROM the wild that they are alive in the hobby.

  • This is very cool. I hope to make a trip like this one day, although my quarry are the smaller mollies and swordtails.
