  • Superreverbking, just had to write to compliment you on your cover of this tune, one of my favorite Bakersfield country classics. I need to buy a bender guitar, but when I get it, I'd need to start trying to cop those nice steel licks. Any tips or pointers? What voicings are you using in the "steel guitar" parts that correspond to Mooney's solo? Many thanks again for posting this; you sound great. Where do you perform?

  • @GeorgiaBoy1961 Thanks - I really can't play the bender well (haven't really picked it up since around the time this vid was made. Steel parts are just major and minor triads over each chord. I play out in the clubs and halls of Long Island, NY, rarely playing this type of music, unfortunately.

  • This owns so hard. You are great, great, great.

  • @GiantBaba84

  • Oh man, that was sweeeet! I am really liking your sound. Is that a Silverface Deluxe Reverb that you are using? THanks.

  • Terrific...Your B-bender improvisation is right in keeping with the spirit of the original tune...sometimes the simplest things are the best...I'm going to get my B-Bender out and learn this too, I've always loved the original. Roger M (62 this year!).
