Here's a short home movie shot during what appears to be a cruise taken aboard The Cosulich Line's Motorship Saturnia sometime in the 1930's. What a handsome ship! Music is by the ever-fabulous Carmen Cavallaro playing Italian songs. Bon voyage!

  • My family came to the U.S. on the Saturnia in 1955

  • This is an amazing video, I never thought I would ever see the ship my family and

I emigrated to the United States on. We left Messina, (Sicily) April 7, and arrived in New York May 9, 1962. I think it was one of the last voyages it made. Though I was only 8 years old I remember how long those thirteen days were. Not knowing what was on the other side of the ocean. I had to be an adult to realize the courage my parents had to leave everything behind for a better life for their children.

  • My Grandmother and her brother came to America on a ship with that name, in 1951, hope it's the same ship.

  • I came to The U.S of America on this ship..reached NYC in November 1963. <3

  • great looking ship I was onboard her travelling to New York with my mother in March 1946. I was 17 months old.

  • Some great footage of the Saturnia from before the war. Hopefully some footage of her sistership Vulcania will surface.

  • my family emigrated to America onboard Satunia in 1936

  • Great little vid, as always- little gem, and a great looking, very trim little vessel - Thanks for sharing!
