  • @mustwinder Actually, in real life, Almanzo and Laura were only 5 or 6 years apart. Almanzo had lied about his age when buying his claim. So when the Land Agent asked for his age Almanzo replied "You can put me down as 21," But he was actually only 19. But I think only a few people knew about it. His family and Laura knew, and Laura's family might have known also.

  • GAAHH Manly, you are too infuriating! Can't ya see she wants to wait a while? It's her choice too!

  • @mustwinder thats how it was back in that time.

  • 8:44 to 9:02 Thank you Harriet! LMFAO!

  • So, first shes a woman and should get to choose, and then shes just a little girl for not choosing him? Nice.

  • Reason why I say Charles wasn't really being fair, is because when Mary and Adam married, she was 16, and Adam didn't even ask for Charles' permission. And don't say because she went blind and that's different. Remember, she was once engaged to John, she wasn't blind then, and Charles didn't say anything. I guess either way, its different because Mary was the oldest girl. But still it wasn't fair trying to make Laura wait for 2 years. Not even one year. But can't press your luck lol

  • @monkeydashley True. But at the same time, Almanzo did have a point, it really was Laura's choice, not Pa's. Charles was being quite unfair. 16 was the age when a young lady wanted to get married back then. Charles wasn't ready to let go. But by the end, he realized he had to. He didn't really have a favorite, but he had that special father/daughter relationship with Laura because before Almanzo, Charles was the most important man in her life. And that was about to change.

  • lol that last bit of Mrs. Ingalls and Mr. Olsen... awkwarrrddd

  • Almanzo is acting like a .... a .... selfish ignorant man in love
