This is a video of Norma Jeane (Marilyn Monroe) around 12 or 13 years old on the beach, circa 1938-39. There is no sound. The twins shown in this clip were Norma Jeane's flower girls in her marriage to Jimmy Dougherty in 1942.

Marilyn was not unhappy because of Hollywood. She was unhappy throughout all her life, even in this video. She was in a care home, her dad left and her mum was in a mental home with a mental dissability. Norma loved children, and what made her so deeply unhappy in her life is that she kept getting miscarriages. She just wanted to be loved .. she had an unhappy life, even through her teens.

I think it's safe to say that Norma Jeane was happy in this video. It's refreshing to see her frolick on the beach and be a happy kid. At this time in the video, Norma Jeane was living with her "Aunt" Ana, whom she loved very much and was happy living with.
