I seem to recall that Liszt took some insults for including a triangle in one of his concertos. They knew they couldn't even try to say anything bad about this concerto.
a real nice finding on youtube, Dvorak celoo concerto performed by the extraordinary Rostropovich and conducted by Carlo Maria Giulini, premiered on march 19, 1896 by cellist Leo Stren and under the direction of the compositor himself
im more prone to movement #2 i think its prettier and yes Antonin Dvorak was a genius and Rostropovich is an even better! WE LOVE BOTH OF THE MAESTROS!
