Happy 46th Anniversary to Doctor Who! And what better way to mark it then by celebrating it's past and present together.

This is a Doctor Who title sequence for the 10th Doctor - David Tennant in the style of the very first title sequence for the programme back in 1963.

It mixes several elements from the 1963 title sequence, but also some special test footage, which as you can see becomes very useful when I try to insert David Tennant's image into the sequence. In addition, I also soften David Tennant's image to fit better into the title elements.

I hope you like the video, and I wish all Doctor Who fans a happy anniversary!

  • great only it'd be better with smith lol

  • It would've worked with Matt if it wasn't for that bow tie. The real man in the test footage is clearly wearing a normal tie. Then again, it could work if people didn't look too closely, lol.

  • Nice one:)

  • Thanks Sparky :)

  • I find it hard to imagine Doctor Who being 100 years old, but 2063 isn't THAT long away.

  • Frankly, I'd be amazed and overjoyed if that happened, but I'm afraid 54 years will feel a long time away. I'd be 75 and maybe on my pension by then, lol.

  • @ReverseThePolarity

There's a shot of Matt facing forward out by now, perhaps you could use that?

  • Very good

You'd think they'd remember that Matt wears the bow tie because Patrick Troughton's Doctor wore one.

After all, BOW TIES ARE COOL

Moffat has made it clear that he will not show the Time War, because "there isn't enough money in the world to do it justice."

  • I love that effect at 0:22

  • 2063 is the 100 year anniversary and 2072 is the date that Doctor Who (or at least, the First Doctor?) enters Public Domain. I expect videos for both those dates, RTP.

  • The BBC Should finally get it together and make a time war movie between now and 2013.

  • All my love to long ago? (Actually, 3 months ago ;) )

  • Well your in luck. Now that Moffat has taken over, DW is not only getting a new version (hopefully better) of the theme, as well as a new title sequence that includes Matt Smith's face, as they did with traditional Whos....I'm considering nicknaming Moffat "Mr. Traditional" or "Blessed Savior of Us TruWho Fans"

  • Well I'll only be 66 in 2063. Not sure if I'll be able to celebrate Star Wars's 100th anniversary in 2077 though.
