  • Maybe I shouldn't be asking this, but what happened to the Blind Cool Tech E-mail list?

  • Chase says that it is still there!

  • Yes.

  • So they've finally released the docking station for the Braille + I know the Icon docking station has been out for almost a year now. Are you recording this video at school? It's interesting that you say the docking station battery isn't replaceable, as the Icon docking station battery is replaceable, at least, I believe it is. It's a shame the Icon isn't available here in Australia, or else I'd consider replacing my VoiceNote mPower with this.

  • Yes, this was recorded at school.

Just to help make it clearer, neither the Icon or the Braille Plus docking station's batteries are replacable by the user. Both the Icon and Braille Plus batteries are replacable, but not the ones in the docks. If you have a problem with the battery, it needs to be serviced by the manufacturer.

  • Does the docking station truly give you four times the battery life? I remember when they released the Level Star Docking Station for the Icon that they had issues with the battery (I think).

  • Yes, it does!

  • Is there a braille keyboard docking station for the braille Plus? Is the braille plus being discctinued? I think they are't selling the unit. That is so sad!!!!

  • Wouldn't it be great if we one day see an Icon/Braille+ docking station with an intergral braille display? I know you can use external braille displays such as the Refreshabraille 18, but this means using 2 devices instead of 1, I personally think it would be more convenient in the end to deal with only 1 device.

  • can you access each program on the Braille+ by entering the initial letter of the program you want? For example, can you press W to access the word processor, or E to access the E-mail etc? The fact that the Icon/Braille+ uses this modular approach is very good, you could have a docking station at home, and one at work, and you could travel from home to work with the Icon/Braille+ in your pocket, whic is an awesome idea.
