How to install Linux on ps3 (part1)

This is part one of three.

This video is a step by step guide, that takes you through each part of the installation of Linux on ps3. The tutorial is aimed at beginners and intermediate users without a big knowlegde about Linux and how to install it on a ps3.

1. Is your tv high definition or normal 480i vga? If the latter is true you would normally go to the text installer.

2. Are you sure that the dvd is working correct? Have you remembered to burn it as an ISO file and not just like a data cd with the ISO file on it?

if it needs to be high deffinition then i'll use a high deffinition television

Normally you should be able to install linux on a low-def tv but it will do so via the text based installer.

I would personally try it on a high-def tv.

No! It is absolutely vital that you have a mouse and it has to be WIRED or with a matching wireless usb dongle. Bluetooth mouses WON'T work!

you should take that tv off your ps3. too much weight for it to handle
