  • Were's carmine he should be in the board game

  • Good review. Pretty much summed up what I had already started to think of the game myself. I'll just wait until one of my friends gets it and leave some room on my shelves.

  • @dukenukem6579 I bet he will be in a character expansion set if the game has done well...they're all about making the money after all.

  • its not suppose to have a deep story line the game didnt have a deep story line use the hammer of dawn to destroy our own citys and kill the underground people yeah..... great idea the whole game was about dropping a bomb so i mean gears has never had a deep storyline so this game fits it perfectly and besides think about no game has a deep storyline all board game consist of doin one certain thing ove and over and over

  • Excellent!

  • Good vid, Jeremy. I agree with the repetitiveness. Even at GenCon, I really didn't see a lot of depth to it. Still haven't played the video game, though!

  • @TheRaivaaja DOOM is very tough, that´s true. But with the official rules out of the expansion it is possible to make it easier for the marines. Nonetheless it is a very hard ride for them but in a survival style of game it should be that hard, so that every step could be your last. In Descent the chests really ruin everything. Before getting to them the OL can kill them all. After getting the first treasures, the heroes become too powerful (and 4 hours playtime left -.-). 2nd Edition FTW!

  • @Beckikaze Haven't played Descent but that is something I have heard from people and after playing DOOM I wouldn't be surprised if it were true.

I don't find DOOM to be that well balanced and if Descent if even less balanced then it must be really imbalanced.

  • @TheRaivaaja I don´t agree that Descent ist the better balanced game in comparison with DOOM.

  • Buying it, looks quite fun and good despite the criticism at the end.

  • @RazemetaZ Haven't played this one yet but the question is about how okay your group is about coop.

Doom tbg is a semi-coop where one takes the role of the badguys while GoW tbg is full-coop.

My group has enjoyed Doom (it's the game that brought us into boardgaming) but we don't really like the 'screw you' -attitude that playing as the badguy brings. Also Doom isn't really that well balanced.

If your group is okay with semi-coop then I would recommend Descent (it's Doom with upgraded mechanics)
