Um, Robert Scoble (me) is interviewing MySpace's CEO, Mike Jones. He's the one trying to change the company. I'm just asking the questions.

scoble isn't rebuilding anything. he's trying to sell former myspace users a product unrelated to what they ever signed up for and which they never expressed any interest in using. the guy seems to have no connection to reality whatsoever. people were on myspace to express themselves and to connect with others on that basis. not to be passive consumers of entertainment.

hopefully someone with a (figurative) soul will take charge of myspace before its too late and restore some of its former capabilities AND aggressively promote itself and those capabilities to the musical, creative & expressive market for which it had real value & draw them back to myspace for that specific reason, before the entity is entirely dead & buried. but i'm not counting on it. i'm just waiting for some other entity to come along & create such a service, anew.

for now, myspace: fail.
