MCCAIN: "First of all, SCHIP, like I said with these things, I have to tell you stuff you don't want to hear as well as those that you do want to hear. The SCHIP program was designed to provide children with health insurance. We did that pretty well. There are still eight million that are not covered. Six million of those are simply because we just haven't signed them up. It's not a problem, you simply got to find them and sign them up. You got two million that we're going to have to expand the program to cover. And that will cost about three to five billion dollars. So what do they want to do in Washington? They want to expand it by 35 billion dollars. They wanted it to encompass adults, and they wanted it to encompass 300 people, 300 percent under the poverty line."
