Newsradio 850 KOA Reports False Death

Newsradio 850 KOA, a 50,000 WATT AM radio station in Denver Colorado. Mistakenly reports the death of Leslie Fishbein, president of Kasey's Fine Furniture and major advertiser on the station!

Listen as the morning news team basically offer NO accountability for what they've done, even after they realize their mistake. I feel for her family.

Leslie Fishbein had, in fact died... Judging by the timeline offered by the reports, this broadcast is from Friday 3/21. The reporter states that she slipped into a coma "back on Tuesday", and the Denver Post reported that she died Wednesday 3/19 at noon. So essentially their initial report was more or less correct; other than the day she actually died. So wrong date of death, and a slight back pedal following their initial report.

Sloppy, yes. Terrible, no.

I know the Colorado air (in spots) is a little thin out there, but if the death of a furniture store owner, even one that's a major radio sponsor, is considered this BIG a news, many there would be well-advised to visit the low-country and inhale deeply. And the sooner, the better.
