It's obvious that you didn't really look up the Palm Pre before you went to buy it. The actual unit cost is $849. They give it at $299 with a 2 year contract. Which is way more than a $150 deduction fee. Anyone who has been updated about the Palm knows that, it's PITIFUL you didn't read up before you started talking.

Also, the phone feels GREAT, and its on a new Web OS system, which is LEAPS and bounds above the windows version palm used to have.

Be more informed before you speak moron.

I would disagree because ATT has slow network. Now regarding your discount Keep in mind that all phones no matter what carrier have a higher cost than that of a contract. Now you may have only qualified for a $75.00 off of the RETAIL price of the phone which is way more than $300.00. The phone retails over $600.00. Go to ebay and see for yourself and or go to Best Buy and ask how much is it without contract.
