This is the room we're going to use to fruit oyster mushrooms in South Florida. I still need to put in the misting and ventilation systems, which is why there is a part of teh inside left un-insulated with the foil radiant heat barrier as of yet. We're still a few months from being ready, but getting there!

  • Hey now!

Unfortunately, I had to take this down because I was doing this with a partner and he decided he didn't want to do any work and told me to take it all down :-(

It was a Jewett Cameron portable shed/garage and I built the platform it is standing on. That is made out of wood and then the covering is vinyl flooring to make it easier to clean. Medium was going to be straw. Pasteurized by steam w heat relay to measure steam temp in a 55 gallon drum.

  • Thanks!

  • hi bro please tell me that how much you spend for your cyclic timer ( on off timer switch) means please tell me cost of one cyclic timer. thanks

  • @zimant78 not quite: how do you get rid of the gnats; specially in Fl?

  • @RoundhouseLion ah no, definitely not. it's wild to see what extreme measures must be taken in an environment like that. that is such a rad setup, thanks for taking the time to shoot the video and show it.

  • @nilesgermain Clearly, you've never had the pleasure of growing anywhere in FL where outdoor temps make growing something like that impossible.

  • fucking cool!

  • They don't necessarily grow naturally in south florida. they are supposed to fruit at 77 deg, give or take.

it's a tight setup, it's a shame it got taken down.

  • holy shit man, that's an extreme setup for something that grows naturally. i understand the reason for overkill (being a grower who bought too much equipment himself) but i think it's worth saying..."holy shit."

    nice setup though, good work.

  • looks abit over elaborate for Oyster mushroms,... just any warm shade would do
