Serato scratch live is a system where by you use two virtual pieces of vinyl and the music off your pc.
What do you think??

A youtube user want to know should they buy Serato or just spend the cash on a load of real vinyl???

  • Dear Oldschoolers... Vinyls are not the REAL deal, they are just a different means. Stop closing doors, you are just limiting your music selection, your creativity, and your understanding of the evolution of DJing. I'm not bashing Vinyls, but srsly... there are undertones of ignorance when yall say Vinyls are REAL and CDJs are not. There are plenty of great tracks that will never get on Vinyl... you're gonna miss out on a lot of goodies by hating.

  • @CptSmokey00 some track get release only on vinyl mate !. (and if you get nice skills you can use cue point on vinyl -turntablism techniqe. this art dj'ing in my opinion) but i dont hate cd or serato, just vinyl is real art&culture of dj'ng imo.Digging, searching, buy records, selections, vinyl sound, collection in your room, not in your hard drive and just listen not look to amplitude and cue on monitor.Use cd or serato but dont stop use vinyl! Mix up music and equipment; evolution+saveTheVinyl

  • Not to mention you then play digital music instead of analogue.....

  • Vinyls all the way!! Everything else is an EMULATION of vinyls.... Serato is like playing on a guitar hero plastic thing when you could actually get yourself a real instrument... The only way I would actually use sera to is if I had to mix an all style party at a cheap club, but even in this case I would go for pioneers controllers (cdj 200)...

  • @CptSmokey00 no that's the point of this scartch live so now you can get any track on vinyal, helooooooo

  • In my Opinion it is very important for a DJ to buy vinyl because "Thats" the essence of proffesional DJing. I play my Sets with Traktor scratch, too(because much songs aren't available on vinyl. But I prefer to play half the time with vinyl, ore mixed sets(vinyl, Traktor with Timecode) Hey Ellaskins I like your Videos :-D Hear to my sounds at soundcloud. Search for Jakobe el loco

  • serato scratch live, because its practically same as vinyl you do the same things and in a long term it will be cheaper too...

  • I like both, even DJ Controllers for Traktor are good. They all have their pro and cons. If you're going to go and DJ a house party you probably don't want to be taking all your nice vinyl and getting them smashed up and you probably don't want loads of gear. A laptop and controller is ideal. If you're doing the sort of gig where people would be expecting vinyl then give it to them. You've got to be skilful to do both.

  • COMPUTERS CRASH.... YOUR VINYL MIGHT SKIP BUT IT WILL NEVER EVER CRASH.

AND TO QUOTE ONE OF THE ALL TIME GREATS "ASK ANY LADY....AND SHES GONNA TELL YOU SHE PREFERS THE 12" " - THE FUNKIEST MOTHER FUCKER ALIVE....MOODYMANN

  • VINYL IS THE ONE..... its funny, people who dont use vinyl havent even stepped foot in a record store and i find that really sad. If you aint finger fucking wax, you aint doing shit. any monkey can mix with serato or cdjs but the skill comes down to the wax.

also your ear will become soo much more finely tuned spinning wax because you only have your ear to rely on... someone using serato doesnt even need headphones. that is sad.

  • Serato would be best coz it save you trouble of you music getting lost and carring lots of vynl around

  • Super old video and i probably already commented on it but i think that serato is the way to go in terms of being a working DJ. If you are just a hobbist and a vinyl junky then have at it. But you can get SL1s now for 250 bucks and less on ebay. I think even vinyl junkies should spend the 250 on that! Well worth it.
