@UCSDEngineerDoctor Blame the Red Guards, not Mao. The Cultural Revoluion was never intended as a way to murder people, it was a way to oust the capitalists like Deng from the party. If anything, blame the Party for letting Mao's cult of personality grow to such extreme heights.
