My tribute to an amazing instrument, my Martin D42. We really did meet on a mountainside - in Aspen, Colorado, in October of 2003 where I was attending the annual John Denver celebrations. I'd had the guitar delivered to my holiday location and first played it looking out upon Aspen Mountain. This guitar has been just about everywhere with me, and has helped me to write so many of my songs. This song 'Lifespan' was inspired by C.F. Martin's 'Lifespan' competition - the idea was to write a song with the word 'Lifespan' in it, and the winner (voted for by the Youtube community) would win a new Martin D18 guitar. So....I wrote the song, and only THEN discovered that in order to be eligible to enter the competition, I had to reside in the USA :-(
Oh, well...my guitar at least got the fitting tribute it deserves for being such a faithful friend.
Hi Mark,
Beautiful tune. ("Your version of This Old Guitar")
There should be a International Winner too !

Beautiful melody line! Always such a dreamkiller when you read that you are not eligible when you are in other countries. Glad you uploaded this even if you can't participate =]
