I am lifted high each time I hear the version of this old hymn. Because of Christ's sacrifice for us we have the opportunity to do so much for Him and as He promised, have life more abundantly.

The Lord honors those who honor Him!!! Isaac Watts father was imprisoned for his faith and he wrote many endearing letters to his son speaking of how Christ was glorified in the midst of the suffering . What impressions that made on this young boy at the time!!! This hymn attests to God's goodness and faithfulness to His people. May the Lord be praised!!
