Set netting involves setting a gill net across the current to intercept fish as they swim with the current. The net is held in a stationary position by an anchor at each end. Typical anchors include a stake pounded into the mud (if in shallow water), large concrete blocks typically weighing about 4,000lbs or sand bag piles using anywhere from 75 - 200 sandbags. In this video we show setting a concrete block anchor at our friends Kenai Alaska set net site and a sandbag anchor at our East Forelands/Nikiski AK site.

  • Yes, the skiff on the marble pile at the end of the video is the same one (Bruin) used to drop the concrete block.

  • is the boat that is pictured at 8:58 of this movie the 23' bruin?

  • Its a 23' Bruin that we bought "new" last year. It had been in a storage yard for about 20yrs without ever having been launched!

  • who built the first skiff in this video?
