PS3 Slim Problem

Launch day PS3 Slim XMB fails to boot after watching four episodes of House DVD and exiting DVD player. Controller, remote and power buttons unresponsive, so the only way to power off is to disconnect the power lead. Only thing that responds is the drive. Reconnected the power lead and switched on and the same problem occurs.

Note: there is a moment in the vid where the unit failed to power up after reconnecting, but I had connected the wrong lead, d'oh!

Latest usage time about 3.5 hours, though I've used it for longer before. Unit is very warm to the touch all over the bottom, and at the rear of the topside, which I understand is normal. Firmware is 3.01, no major issues until this. Will let the unit cool for a little while before powering up again. No idea what the problem might be.

Update: have allowed the unit to cool and same problem. Something has bricked the console, possibly hard drive failure. Unit will not power up by pressing the PS button on the controller or the buttons on the official remote. Unit also does not respond to pressing the power button.

I was so pissed off earlier I was about 5 minutes from buying an xbox when I got my ps3 to restart it had to rebuild the hardrive 3 times before I could finaly get on

@technogamer91 hehe yeh i fixed it yesterday , i luckily got around the safe mode by mistake, i was messing around with the power button.. i didnt have to format my harddrive though :P i just click on repuild ps3 system, and it eventually worked XD thanks for the reply anyways

I noticed how your were continuously on and off clicking the power button but this is like a freeze your dealing with so when mine froze the manual said hold down power button for 15 seconds and it simply restarts!It does work and it doesn't wipe out the harddrive or anything at all!But don't plug it out!Hold down button for 15 SECONDS ._. lol

I had a similar problem to this as well, i watched a blue-ray movie on my 42in 1080p tv then when i was done i took it upstairs to a different TV to where i usually play and it wont start b/c "the correct hard disk was not found" im like wtf is this shit.
